This is a closer view of the window in St Helen's church seen in yesterdays post. The window as you see it here is a composite from glass originally placed in the chancel. The four main figures are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
I love the stained glass windows in most churches, except perhaps some of the more modern ones. I was in a church here at Burley in Wharfedale photographing some of the glass a couple of days back.
Very nice. You've inspired me to do something similar. I don't think our local churches would mind if I visited with my camera, as long as I don't interrupt a service!
Thanks for the lovely comments. Stained glass can be difficult to capture as much of it is so very high up, especially in large churches like the Minster. Worth the effort though.
