April Showers

I was just about to go for a walk when the rain started. Ten minutes later it was a lovely sunny day again, April showers!

Even on a dull day the daffodils alongside the city walls look nice and bright.

Still Springing

Another nice day and a few more flowers out. Spring officially starts in 11 days time and we have hardly had more than a few frosty night this winter.

Spring Bulbs

Daffodils, Snowdrops and Crocus all out at the same time, and in the same shot. Maybe spring is not so far away.......

Spring in the Cemetery

A spring view of part of the Victorian area of York cemetery. In the foreground is a large stone cross which is a memorial to 'Harriet Dickinson, wife of Alfred Dickinson, Wine Merchant of this city'. In the background is the Grade II* listed cemetery chapel designed by James Piggott Prichett. Completed in 1838 it is based on the Temple of Erechtheus one of the three main temples on the Acropolis in Athens. A rather pagan linneage for a funeral chapel!
