X is for Xuni
This is Xuni, she is a pedigree Weimaraner. She was sold to a puppy farmer who made a lot of money from her, then chained her up in a yard and forgot about her. She was given a mango a day if anyone remembered to feed her. After a few months of this Xuni did not have very long to live when her luck suddenly changed. A persistent English woman kept visiting the farmer and telling him he was a very bad man. Eventually he told her to just take the dog and stop pestering him. A lot of generous people helped Xuni move to another country. She is slowly putting on weight as her stomach gets used to food again. She could hardly walk when she was rescued but now she can run. She is devoted to her besotted new owners, and to watch her delightedly tracking scents back and forth across open fields, whilst keeping a careful eye on her new family, is truly heart warming.

Lil in Action
Perhaps you can spot the stick? Lil certainly has and has launched herself sideways on a flying intercept course. She made the catch. Watching and learning in the background is Xuni. She has quite a story to tell which I will save for another day.

Put the stick down and no one gets hurt!
This is Lil, she just loves to play with both humans and sticks. Take her for a walk and she will run off and find a stick. She brings the stick and puts it at your feet, you attempt to pick up or kick the stick for her, she snatches it away. Repeat as often as you wish. Occasionally she lets you get to the stick first, she knows how to work an audience. Stop by tomorrow to see her in action.

The Face of Bo
Meet Bo, she is a 9 year old liver and white shorthaired Pointer who lives in a village just outside York. Her hobbies include chasing squirrels, not to catch them, just to 'point' at them, going for long walks with her people, and sleeping by a warm fire. She is a great favourite with the local children she encounters on these walks as she has a very gentle and patient nature. She has time for everyone she meets, and if you throw her ball for her she will be your friend for life. The title of the post is especially for Tim.
