B is for Beyond Bootham Bar

This is a view along the Bar Walls looking back towards Bootham Bar from one of the larger interval towers. This tower has had various names down the centuries, the Bawing Tower, Frost Tower or Robin Hood Tower.

  5. Oooh, I'd love to visit this place! And its environs (I love history, ghosts, the UK - what's not to love about York??) :-) Great photo, I love the perspective.

I wonder if a ginnel is what they call a "close" in Scotland? I love the examples of some of York's ginnel names in your sidebar.
