Driver for a Fiver!

This is Murton Park a station on the Derwent Valley Light Railway. Opened in 1913 the railway ran from Layerthorpe station in York to Cliffe Common near Selby. There is half a mile of track left and occasionally there is the opportunity to pay £5 and have a go at driving one of the diesel shunters.

  1. Would imagine that there are lots of folk who would be happy to pay £5 for the opportunity!

  2. Hmm, with my driving record and a diesel locomotive? Nope, I don't think we want to go there. :-)

  3. I suspect if I were to have a go at it, it would end in disaster!
