This window is part of the Merchant Adventurers' Hall which was built built in the 14th century. I just love the jumble of patterns and textures with the mix of brick and stonework.
What I like about the 14th century are the stained glass windows. They have a fairy tale quality and a languorous charm which is sometimes tinged with pathos. Personally, the art of glass painting way back is much better than today.
I love the age of it and the history in the brickwork!
ReplyDeleteI love it too! That's luscious.
