Victorian School House

Built in 1896 this Victorian school is a Grade II listed building that is still in use today as a primary school for children living in York. It's outer appearance could not be more different from the brightly coloured modern school buildings of more recent builds. Daunting or inspiring, what do you think?

  1. Nothing like the schools in my area.

  2. That's big for a UK primary school! I think quite a few of these buildings have been converted to residential use now, but there are a few still in use.

  3. Charles Dickens couldn't have described a more daunting picture. I love it.

  4. I love it and do think it would inspire. Much better than many of the more recent school building that have been put up of late. All my schooling was in Victorian or earlier buildings.
