Just don’t ask ‘Which one is Morris?’

This is the Chapel-en-le-Frith Morris Men doing a turn at York 2011 Festival of Traditional Dance. They are based in the Derbyshire Peak district and describe themselves as probably the most hyphenated morris side in the world. Morris is a form of British Folk Dance and the dancers often wave around implements such as sticks, swords and handkerchiefs.

  1. I've heard much about Morris dancing. I'd love to see it in action.

  2. You would have really enjoyed the festival I think. The expressions on the faces of people watching varied from bemused to delighted!
