Halfpenny House

Whenever I walk past I wonder where Halfpenny House got it's name from. If it were for sale today I doubt there would be much change from £500,000.

  1. I believe the house is named after the man who lived there in the late 18th century - Joseph Halfpenny. There is a wikipedia page on him, and mentions that he died at his house on Gillygate.
