Dry stone wall

A closer look at a dry stone wall. No cement is used, the stones are carefully selected to fit together to produce a sturdy structure capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions. They provide shelter for a range of animals, birds and insects as well as marking the boundary lines of the fields. They are a classic feature of the Yorkshire Dales landscape

  4. Amazing to see this great engineering. Love your choice of shot. (Fun that my comment follows Petrea's. Your ears should have been burning a couple of week's ago :)).

  6. You are very kind. Feel free to drop me an email if visiting, always happy to show a CDP blogger the sights. Something to bear in mind though, to avoid spam the email address on the blog is not my main one and I don't check it all that often. Best to leave a blog comment to let me know I have a message.
